A woman suffered a fractured eye socket when she was run over following an argument with a motorist in Stockport.
At about 11pm on Sunday 25 August 2013, a couple were walking home along Warren Street.
The 40-year-old woman was walking slightly ahead and as they neared Asda and Sainsbury’s supermarket, she noticed her husband, a 42-year-old man, was talking to the driver of black Mercedes Benz.
The victim attempted to pull her husband away and moved towards the rear of the car, at which point the driver put his vehicle in reverse and drove at the woman, knocking her to the ground.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to a fractured eye socket.
The car is believed to be a two door Mercedes Benz with the partial registration M53.
The driver is described as white, with fair, short receding hair.
Detective Constable Malcolm Such, said: “At this time we believe the driver may have deliberately driven at the woman so it is vitally important we identify him so we can get his account of what happened.
“There appears to have been an argument over something-and-nothing that has ended with the woman suffering a very serious facial injury.
“If you are the person who was involved in a disagreement with a couple on Warren Street on the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend I would urge you to contact us.
“I am also eager to hear from witnesses or anyone who thinks they know the driver.”
