Woman Attacked in Own Home in Heald Green Machete Horror


A Heald Green woman was hit over the head with a machete by raiders who broke into her home.
Two masked men armed with a metal pole and a large bladed weapon carried out the ‘despicable attack’ on Outwood Road on January 9 at 9pm.
The attackers, wearing scarves over their faces and grey tracksuit bottoms and light grey jackets, ransacked the woman’s bag and demanded money but left empty-handed.
The victim, aged in her 20s, was then attacked with a machete sustaining serious head and hand injuries.
Young children were also present at the address at the time of the incident.
A woman in her 50s was attacked after she tried to call police to the home.
Her injuries were not serious, but the family was left ‘traumatised’ by the incident, police said.
