Army bomb disposal officers were scrambled to a park in Stockport after reports a device has been found in a park.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police are at Alexandra Park in Cheadle Heath.
GMP said the device was thought to be from World War Two.
“Officers are at the park and there is a small cordon in place while bomb disposal officers make an assessment,” GMP said in a tweet.
GMP later tweeted out saying the device was not thought to be viable.
