December sees one of the most hotly-anticipated film releases in decades as the latest Star Wars film The Force Awakens hits the cinemas, and The Force is certainly strong in Stockport.

To set the celebrations on their way, a special convention is taking place two weeks ahead of the big release.

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet Darth Vader himself, Dave Prowse, as well as many other special guests from the films.

A Jedi training school will be also held by Andrew Lawden who trained as a Jedi for Star Wars – Episode 1 as a stunt double for Liam Neeson.

He will teach fans how to use a light sabre like a Jedi.

A full-size Scout Walker is being built especially for the event and will be the only one of its kind in the UK. In addition to this there will be sets including; Cantina Scene, Jabba’s Palace (with full scale Jabba the Hutt prop), Ewok Village, Tatooine, Dagobah System and more.

These breathtakingly realistic and detailed creations have been painstakingly put together at the event-organiser’s Stockport HQ.

The event takes place on the 4th – 6th December at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre, Longbridge Road, Manchester.
