Mary Robinson parliamentary candidate in Cheadle invited Secretary of State for Education, Nicky Morgan, to visit local infants’ school, Nevill Road, Bramhall

Mary Robinson said “It was great to be able to visit a top performing school, where I’m also a Governor, and celebrate the wonderful achievements, hard work of the pupils and the hard work of the great staff.”

Secretary of State Nicky Morgan MP said “I was grateful to Mary for arranging this visit and enjoyed my time at Nevill Road, meeting the pupils and staff. It was great to hear about the excellent practice there that has made them a high performing school for foundation years.

Nevill Road Primary is Stockport’s top performing school for foundation stage achievement and Ofsted said “Teaching and learning is good” and “pupils enjoy their time at the school and are very positive about their experiences”

Headteacher, Alison Marshall, said “We were delighted to receive a visit from the Secretary of State for Education and it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the wonderful things we do here. Senior leaders had the opportunity to share how teaching practice and resource allocation are used to develop creative independent learners, and impressed upon her the importance of the early years in securing a strong foundation for future learning.”
