Second Beechwood Shop Vandalised In A Month

Beechwood Cancer Care Centre charity has had its Heald Green shop broken into – just over a month since another of its stores was also ransacked by thieves.
The charity shop on Finney Lane was due to close in a week’s time for two weeks for refurbishment – but has now been forced to close early after the front door was smashed in.
Only a collection tin was taken – but it has prevented the store from making sales that can total thousands of pounds.
Ian Hodge, chief Executive of Beechwood, said: “It is such a shame this has happened – mindless vandalism has prevented a charity from raising vital funds to help people living with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
“I can’t believe that this has happened to us twice in such a short space of time.
“But we need to remain positive, and we are looking forward to reopening the refurbished shop. I would like to thank the Stockport public for their continued support.”
It is believed the incident took place on the evening on Tuesday, April 18, or early Wednesday, April 19, just over a month since thieves broke into another Beechwood charity shop in Bramhall on March 6 when around £600 of stock was taken.
Anyone with any information about either incident is asked to call police on 101.
