Last Chance to Register to Vote in May’s Elections

SOMETIMES it can be really easy for young people to say they are not interested in politics.
One can easily see why, but the logic in not doing so means they should not complain when somebody gets elected who spends their money, which they have had deducted from their wages in taxes, on something they consider to be frivolous.
So here’s the chance to change all that and register to vote for two elections to Europe and to the local authority (Stockport Council) on May 22 and before the deadline of May 6

If you are aged 18 and over by May 22 and are not on the current electoral register you will miss out on a chance to vote.

There are three ways to obtain a registration form:

(1) Download the form at

(2) Phone the elections hotline 0161 217 6026 from Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm (4.30pm on Friday)

(3) Pick up a form from the elections Office in Stockport Town Hall (entrance on Lacy Street off Edward Street), Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm (Friday 4.30pm)
