High Flying Students Achieve Top Grades


Students at Cheadle Hulme School had cause to celebrate as they achieved the coveted A* grade in more than 21% of their A Level exams. Ten students achieved straight A*s and an impressive 82.19% of students achieved A* to B Grades in all of their subjects.

Amongst the leading independent School’s many success stories are County Cricket player, Matt Winter, who achieved 3 A*s to secure him a place to read History and Politics at Oxford. CHS Music Scholar Charlie Troup also achieved 3 A*s, as well as a D1 in his Cambridge Pre-U Philosophy course, to secure him a place at Oxford to study History and Politics. They will be joined at Oxford by fellow student, Ella Bucknall, who will read English Language and Literature, while Jamie Billington and Mark Selby have both secured places to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge.

Students Akshay Shah and Jenna Campbell, part of the first cohort of students to have been at Cheadle Hulme School since they joined Reception in the Junior School, are also high flying students with straight A* grades.

Other high achievers include Mathematician Juliet Booth, who secured a 1 in the academically challenging STEP examination, as well as 3 A*s, to secure a place on one of the country’s leading Mathematics courses at the University of Warwick.

Kate Vartan’s A* in Art and Design has taken her another step towards her dream of becoming a Fashion Designer, securing her a place at the internationally renowned Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, alma mater of Stella McCartney, John Galliano and Alexander McQueen.
