CARERS across the west of the borough are being encouraged to attend an information day being held on Tuesday, June 24.
Signpost Stockport’s Carer Information Day provides attendees with an opportunity to collect information and advice about a range of services on offer.
Anyone who looks after a sick, disabled or frail partner, relative, neighbour or friend is invited to the event, which will include the provision of light refreshments.
The event, which will include over 60 information stalls, is being held at the Town Hall from 10.00am to 3.00pm and admission is free.
The information day is part of events contributing to Carers Week, which is being held from June 9 to June 15. A new initiative is calling on people across the UK to sign up to reach local carers who are missing out on vital support and services.
Councillor Keith Holloway, Stockport Council’s executive member for Adult Care Services said: “This annual event is so important and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that information, advice and support is available to the many carers in Stockport who take on caring for a family member or friend who needs their support with daily living.”
