Fire Hits New Bramall Hall Café

A fire has damaged a new café opened to coincide with the refurbished Bramall Hall.
The Stables café was opened as part of the £2.2 million renovation smoke logged and crews from Stockport and Cheadle stations isolated the electrics and used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to put out the fire.
Firefighters were called to the tourist attraction, in Bramhall Park, on Monday night at around 10.30pm when the smoke alarm was triggered.
It is believed that an LED spotlight had caught alight after it suffered an electrical fault.
A fire service spokesman said: “It smoke logged the cafe and there was quite a lot of charring left but it could have been much more serious.
“Without a quick response the cafe could have been lost.”
