Customers Foil Cheadle Bargain Booze Raid


Customers came to the rescue as a Cheadle off licence shop workers was the victim of a terrifying attempted robbery.

A man armed with a knife was wrestled to the floor and disarmed during the raid at Bargain Booze, on Councillor Lane.

The man had held the knife it against the shop assistant and demanded cash and booze.

Police have confirmed that officers were called to reports of a robbery at the off-licence and that two members of the public intervened.

Officers have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery.
