A suspected car thief thought he had made the perfect get away – until he ran into an alert pet pooch.
A 22 year old man fled a stolen car in Cheadle and made off through gardens in Milton Crescent. He was bitten by a dog patrolling one of the gardens – believed to be a Japanese Akita – and promptly arrested before being taken to hospital with bites to his leg.
The stolen car – a Ford Focus – was stolen from High Lane and located in Cheadle by its tracker device. Two men were initially involved but one escaped before his accomplice made off on his ill-fated garden-hopping escape.
