Bramhall Pub Scoops Top Award Less Than A Year After Opening

A Bramhall pub has scooped a top CityLife award after only opening its doors in June of last year.
The Mounting Stone, operated by the same team behind The Chiverton Tap in Cheadle Hulme, has quickly brewed a fine reputation with a rotating range of fine real ales, as well as impressive collections of cider, gin and whisky.
The Mounting Stone is playing its part in as one of a number of interesting independent pubs to revitalise the Stockport area.
Friends
The pub also plays host to a knitting club, a home brew club and a book club – so you might end up with some new friends if you drop in for a pint on Tuesday nights.
It’s a double celebration as it has also been named as Stockport and South Manchester CAMRA pub of the month for February.
Flag
The Mounting Stone is flying this year’s flag for Greater Manchester micropubs and finished top of the pile over The Marble Arch, The Crown and Kettle; The Pilcrow and The Smithfield – all in Manchester city centre.
