The community in Lancashire Hill and Heaton Norris has been given an extra boost this Christmas from a local nursery.
Charnwood Nursery kindly undertook some festive fundraising for its neighbour, Penny Lane Pantry, to provide festive food and treats to members of this community food project. Penny Lane Pantry is a membership scheme where local residents can pick at least 10 items of groceries for just £2.50 a week. The Pantry really helps people stretch their food budgets, and the donation from Charnwood has helped to provide extra stock just in time for the festive season.
ASDA Stockport also got into the festive spirit, providing £50 worth of vouchers towards more food for the Pantry.
Anna Jones, Food Sharing Officer at Stockport Homes said, “This is really great news to hear at Christmas; we’re all really touched by the efforts Charnwood have gone to in supporting the Pantry. It’s lovely to see different parts of the community working together to support each other at this time”.
Penny Lane Pantry is open to anyone living in Lancashire Hill and Heaton Norris and is run by volunteers. If you would like to sign up, either as a member or helping us as a volunteer, please contact Anna Jones on 0161 474 4760 / email@example.com
